J1 Electrical Maintenance Technician

• International Paper Columbus is seeking talented Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians with 3 or more years of Industrial experience. Successful candidates will be eligible for a one time $5,000 Hiring Bonus. Successful candidates who must relocate beause their permanent address is at least 100 miles from the work location will be eligible for Relocation Assistance of up to $10,000.
  • Eligibility – This does not apply to current International Paper employees or previous employees who left the company in the last 12 months .

Columbus Cellulose Fibers (CCF) CCF Pay Rate : $39.98/hour	Columbus Modified Fiber (CMF) CMF Pay Rate: $39.98/hour
CCF Category/Shift : Hourly Full-Time - Our maintenance technicians generally work a four day 10-hour schedule…Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm with every fourth Friday scheduled as an 8-hour day (7:00am-3:30pm). Successful candidates can also expect to be assigned a one year shift rotation within their first three years of employment working rotating 12 hour shifts (5:30am-5:30pm / 5:30pm-5:30am) on a 28 day rotation swinging from nights to days weekly – 36 hours one week, 48 the next week (8 hours built in OT every check). A total of 7 DAY shifts, 7 NIGHT shifts, and 14 OFF shifts every 28 days.	CMF Category/Shift : Hourly Full Time – Our E&I maintenance technicians generally work on shift with the production teams……rotating 12 hour shifts (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am) on a 28 day rotation swinging from nights to days weekly – 36 hours one week, 48 the next week (8 hours built in OT every check). A total of 7 DAY shifts, 7 NIGHT shifts, and 14 OFF shifts every 28 days. Ideally, they will rotate to a 10-hour straight day schedule (Monday-Thursday) every 12 weeks for 6 weeks on days, then return to shift.

The Job You Will Perform:

This is a J1 level Electrical Technician position responsible for completing scheduled and routine maintenance work along with performing many other duties, both as part of a team and independently. Duties include, but are not restricted to, electrical circuit troubleshooting and repair, conduit and wire installation, lighting repair, PLC troubleshooting and repair, drive troubleshooting and repair, as well as instrumentation / control valve calibration, troubleshooting and repair.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least age 18
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required
• Eligible for employment in the US
• Three (3) or more years verifiable experience as a J1 Electrical technician
• Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience
• Must possess high standards in the areas of safety, quality, ethics, craftsmanship, customer focus, and leadership skills.
• Skilled in maintenance and troubleshooting of Electrical related equipment and process problems
• Knowledge of key operating areas, PLCs AC & DC drives, analog and digital field instrumentation, and DCS equipment..
  
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two year Associate Degree in any of the IP Core Maintenance skills or related disciplines (Instrumentation or Electrical).
• Relevant work experience in an industrial environment
• Strong math/physics understanding
• Prior experience as a multi-skilled Electrical/Instrumentation Technician
